Do you remember the song
“All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth?”
And how funny you looked without them?
And how weird it felt to stick your tongue between them?
Well, time marches on – and has been for quite a while.
Several months ago I was informed that a part of my anatomy that doesn’t grow back on its own needed replacing, prompting the above mentioned song to pop into my head. The following is my first attempt at songwriting – well, ok, lyric re-writing. I couldn’t help myself, but I promise not to do it again. Here goes;
“All I want for Christmas is a brand-new knee; a brand-new knee; yes a brand-new knee. All I want for Christmas is brand-new knee and maybe a new hip too!”
And I’m happy to say that my wish came true (just the knee). Who says Christmas is just for kids!
